CONTROL® is a performance-management tool designed to fit right in with what you already have in place.  It leverages in-house knowledge, skills, and infrastructure, while also supporting sanctioned standards.  Moreover, it ensures interoperability, scalability and extensibility, maximizing your investment.

As a single, unified system for every aspect of performance management, CONTROL stores metadata and data on a relational database of choice—Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, DB2/400, or DB2 UDB—across diverse hardware platforms and operating systems.  It dynamically integrates with and accesses operational systems and data warehouses and provides an instantly familiar Excel based front-end. There is no need to learn, implement, or support a new or proprietary architecture/platform.

Set-up and maintenance as well as the integration of data from disparate operational sources take place from a single point and on the spot.

CONTROL provides tremendous flexibility for deployment, whether to a small workgroup, a broad-cross functional user base or to a geographically dispersed user community.  It can be deployed as a 2-tier or 3-tier application. Mixed environments are fully supported, allowing different users of the same application to use any of the available deployment options that best supports the organization.

In addition to standard CONTROL deployment options, CONTROL supports the use of Citrix®, allowing WAN and Web users access to CONTROL remotely.  In environments with Citrix already deployed, CONTROL integrates seamlessly with the existing Citrix installation to allow remote users to access the full functionality of CONTROL over their networks or via the Web.

For small and medium-sized businesses, KCI can provide a bundled solution that includes CONTROL and Citrix, also allowing remote users to access the full functionality of CONTROL over their networks or via the Web.

Browsers supported with the Citrix solution are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

Hardware requirements vary by deployment strategy and minimally require:

  • A database server to host the RDBMS database system.  The requirements for the database server are dependent on the size and complexity of the CONTROL application, as well as the database preferences and experience of the customer.
  • An application server if a 3-tier deployment is chosen.

The recommended requirements for the 32 bit and 64 bit edition of CONTROL are detailed below:

* Memory requirements are guidelines and are subject to change based on your requirements and data volumes.

** Server sizing is approximated. Actual requirements will vary based on the required dimensionality, the cardinality of each dimension, the number of scenarios, time horizons, the number of concurrent users, data volumes, etc.
