Reach New Levels of Insight

CONTROL® is powerful in its ability and elegant in its simplicity to model real-world drivers and the interrelationships of your business, from the simple to the complex. It provides the cohesive framework needed to see the big picture, weigh the benefits, risks and implications of various options, determine the best course of action, and proactively monitor, assess and adapt as business conditions change.

CONTROL provides unparalleled flexibility and freedom to precisely model your unique business requirements via whatever methodology and driver statistics you need. It gives you complete roll-up flexibility, infinite "what if "or “goal-seeking” scenarios, vast commentary capabilities and unbounded abilities to compare versions side-by-side and from multiple perspectives in order to immediately understand the impact of those decisions—and make the best decisions.

CONTROL supports an unlimited number of dimensions, levels, hierarchies / roll-up relationships and attributes necessary for effective business modeling. Both regular and ragged hierarchies can be defined and all dimensions can be built, modified and maintained by non-programmers. Dimension hierarchies can contain anywhere from one to millions of members and are completely shareable and re-usable across business models, thereby avoiding needless maintenance. Roll-up information can be mapped directly and automatically refreshed from ERP or other source systems. With drag and drop ease, hierarchies can be re-arranged as required as reporting needs change or are included or excluded from the roll-up to model the impact of selling a business segment, for example. With equal ease, additional levels can be added to existing dimensions or alternate hierarchies can be associated with different scenarios—all in real time and without creating a new data cube.

CONTROL offers an extensive library of mathematical, statistical, financial and algebraic functions and operators to cover the spectrum of business modeling requirements. Formulas, both simple and complex, are defined using a point-and-click formula wizard and use a syntax that is similar to spreadsheets. Programming is never required. Individual formulas that appear many times throughout a model structure need only be defined once.

CONTROL supports unlimited business models. Models can be linked together irrespective of whether they share dimensions. Models are exposed to users via CONTROL Views. Views are similar to reports, but are far more powerful because they are navigable and updatable. Multiple views can be open at the same time, in the same workbook, allowing simultaneous view and update. What's more, with drag and drop ease, you can present information the way you need to see it. Better still, you can visualize the results with custom charts and create board quality reports without ever having to leave CONTROL.

Whether you need to model the interrelationships between variables, assumptions and business drivers, simulate, test or compare, CONTROL gives you the power to quickly and comprehensively assess the possibilities and make optimal decisions.

Key strategic planning / modeling features include:

  • Ability to construct modular, inter-related multi-dimensional models
  • Extensive and comprehensive financial calculation library with Excel-like syntax
  • Automatic detection and solution of simultaneous equations
  • Dynamic data flow between models
  • Effortless scenario management and comparison
  • Easy-to-use large-scale data manipulation for modifying assumptions
  • Support of alternate hierarchies and “derived scenarios” to apply different modeling logic to the same base data
  • Simple mapping of external data as drivers (volumes, prices, inventory levels, etc.)
  • Tracking of commentary and hyperlinks from multiple users to track assumptions and feedback, including ability to drill to see all relevant perspectives
  • Robust security to allow participation and review throughout the user community
  • Ability to adjust calculated values and determine independent variables through Solve and Lock
  • Unification with the budgeting and performance measurement process as part of a single, integrated tool
  • Unlimited number of scenarios and side-by-side comparisons and charting.
  • Convey and share information interactively in real time
  • Expanded audit trail capabilities—users can track all changes with limitless log entries.
